Johnson Air partners with a valley home builder to create energy efficient homes that save buyers money.

Wathen Castanos builds and develops beautiful communities in California’s Central Valley, and has been doing so for three generations. Long before rising energy costs were on anyone’s radar, Wathen Castanos worked with Johnson Air to design HVAC systems designed from the start to provide comfort and save home buyers energy.

“We want to build homes that help to improve the quality of living in the Valley,” said Kevin Castanos, of Wathen-Castanos, Inc. “That means not only designing luxurious homes but also designing homes that help to decrease pollution and increase energy-efficiency. We want to do everything we can to help minimize our buyer’s energy bills.”

The high performance, HVAC system, designed from the start by Johnson Air, features quality and energy-efficiency often unseen in the price range. Including; tested sealed ducts so that conditioned air gets to the desired location not the attic. The high performance ducts are tested to eliminate leakage to less than 6% of fan flow. Bryant 16-SEER, 93.7 AFUE furnaces; one of the highest performing systems installed on track homes in the valley.

These accomplishments have netted the homebuilder numerous national awards including NHQA National Housing Quality Awards, Energy Star recognition, and 2011 EVHA Builder of the Year.
